Junior Sales Associate\n\nCoventry, CV2\n£26,500 – £28,000 per annum\nFull-time, Permanent\nFMCG / Consumer Goods / Wholesale / Distribution\n\nWe are recruiting for a Junior Sales Associate to join a growing FMCG business based in Coventry.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for someone who is confident speaking to people, enjoys asking questions, and wants to begin developing a career within a commercial sales environment.\n\nThis is not a direct selling or closing role. The main focus will be making outbound calls to generate leads, from company-provided lists, carrying out initial fact-finding conversations, gathering useful information, identifying potential opportunities, for the wider sales team.\n\nThis a strong opportunity for someone with some telephone sales or prospecting experience, the right attitude, communication skills and reliability.\n\nThe Role:\n\nWorking as part of the sales and commercial team, you will help identify and qualify potential new customer opportunities.\n\nDay-to-day responsibilities will include:\n\n * Making outbound calls to prospect customers from company-provided lists\n\n * Carrying out initial fact-finding conversations with potential customers\n\n * Asking relevant questions to understand customer type, current suppliers, product needs, volumes, buying process and potential future requirements\n\n * Recording accurate information on customer records and internal systems\n\n * Identifying potential leads or opportunities for the sales team to follow up\n\n * Building confidence and knowledge around the company’s products, customers and market\n\n * Supporting the sales team with early-stage lead generation activity\n\n * Maintaining professional and consistent communication with prospect customers\n\n * Following agreed call structures, processes and training guidance\n\n * Working in a busy FMCG environment where accuracy, pace and reliability are important\n\nThis role would suit someone who is naturally veryconfident on the phone, organised, inquisitive and comfortable speaking with different types of businesses.\n\nThe Person:\n\nWe are open-minded on industry background, as product and specific call training will be provided.\n\nYou will ideally have previous experience in:\n\n * Telesales / Telemarketing\n\n * Customer service\n\n * Call centre work\n\n * Sales support\n\n * Administration with regular outbound telephone contact\n\n * Internal sales support\n\n * FMCG, wholesale, food, drink, distribution or product-led environments\n\nYou should be:\n\n * Confident speaking to people on the phone\n\n * Polite, professional and personable\n\n * Comfortable asking questions and gathering information\n\n * Organised and accurate when recording details\n\n * Reliable, punctual and willing to learn\n\n * Able to follow a process and work from provided contact lists\n\n * Resilient enough to make regular outbound calls\n\n * Interested in developing a longer-term career in sales or account management\n\n * Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment\n\nPrevious sales experience would be useful, but the company is looking for someone with the right communication skills, attitude and potential to grow within the business long-term.\n\nThis would suit someone who wants to learn properly, build confidence in a commercial environment and progress over time.\n\nWhat’s on Offer:\n\nSalary of £26,500 – £28,000 per annum\n\nPermanent full-time position\n\nOffice-based role in Coventry, CV2\n\nNo direct selling or closing responsibility\n\nOpportunity to learn within a successful FMCG business\n\nClear route to develop into a sales position for the right person\n\nSupportive team environment\n\nGood opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a commercial career\n\nSummary:\n\nThis is a strong opportunity for a confident and reliable person who enjoys speaking to people and wants to develop within an FMCG sales environment.\n\nThe role is focused on lead generation, fact-finding and supporting the sales team, rather than direct selling.
